Taking into account that Maputo has the highest positive rate in VIH (27%) and that most of children in CT are orphans, I put in contact with a HOPE team to make a VIH test.

Totally 80 children were submited to this test and frankly, the results were better than we thought. Therefore, we can say they were “good” results since we thought the percentage would be higher. The rest of adults living in the school were submited to this test one month ago so, it was not considered necessary to do it again.
Eventhough results were good, we have to say that unfortunately one case of VIH was found among children. From now on, we have to increase the attention and cures this boy needs.

Teniendo en cuenta que la zona de Maputo cuenta con uno de los índices mas altos de VIH positivos (27%) y que la mayoría de los niños/as del centro son huérfanos, contacté con un equipo de HOPE para realizar un test. En total, 80 niños/as del centro se sometieron a las pruebas, y la verdad es que los resultados fueron muy buenos, ya que se esperaba que el número de VIH fuera significativo. El resto de los adultos que viven en el centro, realizaron un test un mes atrás, y no se creyó conveniente volverlo a realizar.

Afortunadamente, pero también desafortunadamente a la vez,  sólo tuvimos un resultado positivo confirmado entre todos los que realizaron el test. A partir de ahora, se tendrán que aumentar los cuidados i atenciones que el menor precise.

Des de aquí quiero dar las gracias a Danilo Domingos y a su equipo de HOPE por haber cumplido con la petición que les hicimos en su día.
